Campus Safety Officer – Brooks Hospital Security Description
- Patrol the hospital, parking areas, and hospital grounds
- Investigate unsecured doors, gates, vehicles and buildings
- Accompany visitors and staff to parking areas when requested
- Open doors, gates, vehicles and building for authorized personnel
- Monitor/operate Closed Circuit Television (CCTVs), two-way radios, telephones, fire enunciator system, and equipment alarms
- Operate/maintain motor vehicle
- Maintain assigned equipment
- Enforce parking and traffic policies
- Assist motorists with vehicle problems (dead battery, flat tire etc.)
- Investigate traffic accidents
- Perform package inspections
- Respond to and investigate alarms
- Assist staff with patients when needed
- Assist staff if confrontational situations arise
- Respond to Emergency Codes
- Assist law enforcement as needed
- Complete incident reports
- Write concise and factual shift reports
- Must have high school diploma or GED
- Must have a clean driving record
- One-year experience in security preferred
- Experience in a hospital setting a plus
- Must possess good problem solving skills
- Must communicate effectively and demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written communication
- Must successfully complete an initial physical fitness test and maintain physical fitness standards
