Campus Safety Officer – Brooks Hospital Security Description

• Patrol the hospital, parking areas, and hospital grounds
• Investigate unsecured doors, gates, vehicles and buildings
• Accompany visitors and staff to parking areas when requested
• Open doors, gates, vehicles and building for authorized personnel
• Monitor/operate Closed Circuit Television (CCTVs), two-way radios, telephones, fire enunciator system, and equipment alarms
• Operate/maintain motor vehicle
• Maintain assigned equipment
• Enforce parking and traffic policies
• Assist motorists with vehicle problems (dead battery, flat tire etc.)
• Investigate traffic accidents
• Perform package inspections
• Respond to and investigate alarms
• Assist staff with patients when needed
• Assist staff if confrontational situations arise
• Respond to Emergency Codes
• Assist law enforcement as needed
• Complete incident reports
• Write concise and factual shift reports

• Must have high school diploma or GED
• Must have a clean driving record
• One-year experience in security preferred
• Experience in a hospital setting a plus
• Must possess good problem solving skills
• Must communicate effectively and demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written communication
• Must successfully complete an initial physical fitness test and maintain physical fitness standards
