Crane Operator role at TNT Crane & Rigging, Inc.

Location:

Macon / Byron, Georgia.

Reports to:

Branch Manager / Operations Manager. Southway is looking to add experienced full-time crane operators to our growing branch.

Ensures safety first, along with safe lifting of the load and proper crane setup, while maintaining customer focus. Follows all State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicles. Follows all safety and environmental policies while performing the job tasks.

• At the end of the shift, review the next day’s job assignments and ensure all necessary rigging and equipment are ready before ending the shift.
• Complete Field Ticket and submit to the local branch office. If other chargeable equipment was utilized on the job, note it on the Field Ticket.
• Complete payroll book daily with hours worked. Hours must be reported to the local branch office no later than 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
• When not on a job assignment, inform the supervisor and stay productive by inspecting, cleaning, and performing maintenance on the equipment.
• Carry and respond to phone/pagers promptly.
• Assist in training in the safe operation of a crane.
• Periodically review the assigned crane and other model cranes’ service and operation manuals.
• Clean, inspect, and reorganize equipment in the shop and yard. Clean shop, wash rack, and break room.
• Read, interpret, and calculate the load percentage using the crane’s owner and operation manuals’ load charts.
• Program the crane’s computer in proper setup mode and set up the crane on location in a safe and professional manner.
• Ensure the signal person understands and performs proper hand signals before lifting the load.
• Understand and perform proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting of the load.
• Inspect crane, truck, and/or trailer and complete a vehicle inspection report before operating the vehicle; submit the report to the local branch office.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

• Current state-issued Commercial Driver License (CDL).
• Current crane operating license (NCCCO).
• 3+ years of operating hydraulic cranes required.
• Ability to operate crane by viewing hand signals.

• Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems.
