Equipment Operator

Under the immediate direction of the Lead person or Supervisor, the Equipment Operator is responsible for operating mobile equipment while moving raw materials from train to stockpile and loading finished products. Additional responsibilities include maintaining roadways and loading areas for designated business unit.

Hours:

Monday - Friday 6am-6pm Pay: $23-$26 an hour Martin Marietta is currently looking for a motivated individual to join our Kansas Grading Team. This position will have the opportunity to operate large equipment like the 374 Cat Excavator or D8 Cat bulldozer removing overburden in different quarries around Kansas. This position will be based out of Grantville, KS but will travel around to locations near Onaga, St.

Mary's, and Soldier Kansas to move dirt and shale in the mining process.

• Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta's Guardian Angel culture
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
• Work in a team environment
• Clean work areas
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Proper wear of personal protective equipment
• Notify supervisors of repairs needed
• Ensure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirements
• Assist in plant maintenance and repairs
• Perform duties with minimum supervision

This is a full-time position and will require 40+ hours per week.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Bulldozers and excavator experience 1 + years related experience
• Valid US driver's license

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations
• Effective verbal communication
• Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance

• Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
• General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching with hands and arms, and handling materials
