Head Pickleball Professional - Tennis (Exempt)
Assist the Director of Athletics and partner with the Supervisor in the department. Promote the Sea Island legacy of warm genuine hospitality while upholding and ensuring compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
Use of Company Vehicle: Not designated to drive a company vehicle.
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong pickleball skills with experience teaching all levels of pickleball
- College degree preferred
- Licenses & certifications a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in Windows XP and Microsoft Office software applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must have ability to courteously present information to people in one‑on‑one and group situations

Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Supervise personnel such as assistant professionals and maintenance staff in the performance of their duties
- Create programming approved by the Director of Tennis and Ops Manager based on the number of courts, personnel and funds necessary for operational management
- Help Ops Manager create the annual calendar of tennis activities for the club/facility
- Assist club/facility officials with the preparation of an annual budget for the responsible operation of the tennis facilities
- Responsible for scheduling of assistant pros and programming of Academy and Holiday events
- Ensure programs are in place at the club/facility to service the guest and membership (juniors, adults, seniors, etc.)
- Organize periodic special events at the club/facility to attract and retain members and guests' tennis interests
- Assist the Director and Ops Manager in staffing the tennis instructors and maintenance teams
- Keep the tennis Director and Ops Manager informed on the status of the facilities and equipment for the purpose of budgeting for replacement and repair items
- Provide beginner through advanced instruction to enhance broad-based member participation
- Provide educational opportunities for all members so they can understand and enjoy tennis
- Inspect the courts/facilities on a daily basis prior to the start of play and ascertain that all necessary maintenance has been performed
- Be certain that necessary personnel for the maintenance and upkeep of the facility are hired and knowledgeable
- Assist the Director of Tennis in communicating and enforcing company policies, rules and regulations, providing guidance and direction for staff which supports Sea Island procedures and is consistent with federal and state law
- Guide, coach, counsel, develop, train and inspire direct reports in a leadership role which promotes teamwork and enhances the overall service experience and maximum productivity
- Make certain that the necessary equipment for the maintenance team and upkeep of the facility is on hand and properly maintained
- Ascertain that all areas of the tennis facility are neat and clean at all times
- Ensure the maintenance areas are clean and presentable condition
- Provide necessary coordination with the facility accounting system to assure a smooth billing operation
- Teach tennis lessons to guests and members by monitoring, demonstrating and teaching proper technique, etiquette, rules and strategies
- Learn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and Members
- Record and bill orders accurately into the register system and process payments using guest/member cards in accordance with accounting procedures
