Distribution Center, Shipping Coordinator
Location: Savannah, GA – 500,000‑sq‑ft distribution center (largest among facilities nationwide).
Position Type: Full‑time, Exempt
Summary: We are seeking a hands‑on Shipping Coordinator for our new 500,000‑sq‑ft distribution center in Savannah, GA. The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the shipping process within the warehouse. This role ensures that products are shipped accurately, timely, and cost‑effectively while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule and coordinate shipments with carriers and freight forwarders.
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs documentation.
- Ensure accurate and timely shipment of products to customers.
- Review and verify shipping orders and ensure they are processed correctly.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped according to customer requirements.
- Communicate with WH Manager & respond to inquiries regarding shipment status, delays, and any issues that arise.
- Resolve shipping discrepancies and handle customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations, including hazardous materials handling and export controls.
- Promote and adhere to safety standards and practices within the warehouse.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipping transactions.
- Generate reports on shipping activities, costs, and performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in shipping and logistics operations.
- Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce shipping costs.
- Investigate shipping discrepancies with corresponding carriers or internal or external departments; communicate with outside partners as needed.
- Proven commitment to safety with experience enforcing and maintaining safety protocols in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Tier One WMS experience required;
Blue Yonder experience is a plus. - Experience in automated, fast‑paced facilities running multiple shifts.
- Detail‑oriented and accurate.

- Critical thinking and proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- Takes initiative to solve problems and prevent potential issues with people or products.

- Physical requirements may include standing for long periods, walking, bending, pushing, reaching, and lifting to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to material handling equipment and high‑traffic operational areas.
