Highway Maintenance Technician

• Conduct highway/roadway routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning and clearing culverts, mowing, brush removal, patching eroded pavements, assisting in storm cleanup, fence repair, sign repair, litter/debris removal, and emergency response.
• Work in adverse weather conditions, reach, bend, climb, stand, stoop, or walk for long periods.
• Lift moderately heavy objects and operate equipment used in highway maintenance.
• Use hand tools (shovels, rakes, brooms) and power tools (chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, backpack blowers).
• Adapt to changing work plans and schedules due to workload or seasonal demands.
• Maintain a high standard of work ethic and commitment.
• Possess or acquire the training and experience necessary for essential job functions in roadway maintenance activities.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license with at least 3 years of clean driving record.
• Demonstrated training or experience performing essential job functions in roadway maintenance.
