Senior Claims Repesentative; Medical Malpractice

Overview

A leading medical professional liability insurance carrier is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Examiner to join its claims team. This is a remote role requiring willingness to travel and experience handling medical malpractice claims
.

The Opportunity:

You will investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex medical professional liability claims, including those involving high severity and litigation. As a senior member of the claims team, you’ll partner with defense counsel, medical experts, and insured physicians while providing insights to internal stakeholders across underwriting, risk management and finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate, analyze, and resolve medical malpractice claims.
• Select and manage defense counsel.
• Retain and consult with medical experts.
• Review and analyze medical records.
• Direct litigation management, including depositions, mediations, and trials.
• Negotiate settlements with plaintiffs and counsel.
• Provide claim status reports to reinsurers and leadership.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with underwriting and other departments.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years in casualty claims, with at least 2–3 years in medical malpractice claims.
• Strong litigation and negotiation experience.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
