Manager, Modern Infrastructure

Reports To: Director, Technology Operations

Summary

The Manager of Modern Infrastructure will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic trajectory and seamless operation of our company's core infrastructure. This position demands expertise in hybrid environments, encompassing unified communications (networking and telephony), Microsoft Azure cloud services, and on-premises datacenter infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Development:
• Directly manage the Unified Communications, Cloud Services, and Datacenter Infrastructure teams.
• Guide, coach, and mentor team members to achieve their full potential, aligning their contributions with broader IT goals.
• Conduct performance assessments, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities to enhance skill sets.
• Create a collaborative and results-oriented environment that values innovation and adaptability.
• Unified Communications (Networking & Telephony):
• Design and oversee the network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN), ensuring security, high availability, and scalability.
• Manage all aspects of enterprise telephony systems, including VoIP, contact center solutions, and any legacy communications platforms.
• Proactively monitor performance, optimize configurations, and troubleshoot network and telephony issues.
• Cloud Services (Microsoft Azure Focus):
• Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive cloud strategy, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Oversee the migration of workloads to Azure, the architecture of cloud-native applications, and ongoing optimization of cloud solutions.
• Champion governance, security, and cost management practices for our Azure environment.
• Datacenter Infrastructure:
• Manage all aspects of on-premises datacenter infrastructure, including networking, compute, storage, virtualization, and backup systems.
• Continuously evaluate datacenter capacity, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Design and implement upgrades, disaster recovery plans, and modernization initiatives in line with the business needs.

Requirements:

• Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7+ years experience in infrastructure management, including 3+ years of leadership experience in enterprise environments.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure solutions (Iaas, PaaS) and cloud architecture.
• Technical Expertise:
• Deep understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, QoS, etc.), and network security.
• Demonstrable proficiency in enterprise telephony, including knowledge of VoIP, SIP, and cloud-based communications platforms.
• Strong experience with datacenter technologies, including server hardware, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V etc.), and storage systems (SAN, NAS).
• Working knowledge of IT security best practices.

• Exceptional team leadership and collaborative skills.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business needs into technological solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills across both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting (Power Shell, Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
