Merchandising Sales Associate

Overview

Merchandising Sales Associate role at Tractor Supply Company. The Field Activity Support Team (FAST) Team Member travels to stores within an assigned district to own and execute start-to-finish tasks such as planograms, merchandise and fixture assembly, and maintenance of signage. The FAST Team Member will interact with customers and Team Members, while delivering a Legendary Customer Experience.

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts with the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, and overtime as dictated by business needs.
• Communicate proactively with the District FAST Supervisor on work completion, issues, and solutions to overcome them.
• Complete planograms and resets accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain visual merchandise standards.
• Perform store-specific measurements.
• Complete store layout initiatives.
• Perform accurate cycle counts.
• Complete Tractor Way top cap process.
• Hang store signage.
• Assemble merchandise, fixtures, and PDQs.
• Complete recovery and review of planogram integrity.
• Deliver on the company’s Legendary Customer Service through GURA:
  Greet the Customer;
  Uncover Customer’s Needs & Wants;
  Recommend Product Solutions;
  Ask to Add Value & Appreciate the Customer.
• Ensure the customer has a Legendary shopping experience that differentiates from the competition.
• Provide peak coverage as needed (e.g., Day After Thanksgiving).
• FAST Team Members may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

• Prior retail and/or merchandising experience is required. Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver’s license.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required. Regardless of education level, FAST Team Members must be able to read, write and count accurately.

• Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
• Must be self-directed and able to complete assignments with little to no assistance.

• Working environment is generally indoors with moderate noise.
• Shifts vary by store but are typically no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours.
• Travel between store locations in your personal vehicle is required, often for extended periods.
• Promote a safe and productive work environment and adhere to company safety training and guidelines.
• Indoor floors and outdoor lots are hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt); lighting and temperature are adequate.

• Ability to travel as required for district needs.
• Ability to push and pull merchandise with assistance; may involve up to 2,000 pounds using material handling equipment.
• Ability to occasionally lift or reach merchandise overhead.
• Ability to stand, kneel, twist, crouch, bend, stoop, and climb ladders for extended periods.
• Ability to access all store areas and operate store equipment including computer and cash register.
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers.
• Ability to handle and be in contact with birds/poultry.
• Ability to complete required training and operate store equipment as needed.
• Specific equipment operation (e.g., dolly, handtruck, forklift, baler) as required by role; forklift and baler requirements may not apply if under 18.
• Physical capabilities including standing, walking, kneeling, bending, reaching overhead, and moving merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the store.
