Position: Electrician - Foreman I - Various Locations
Overview

Electrician - Foreman I - Various Locations at Yates Construction. This first-level supervisory position provides leadership, planning, and direction to the assigned crew for construction activities. It requires previous experience as a craft worker and involves ensuring safety and quality in craft work, coordinating activities so that work is done safely and productively.

Overview Of Primary Duties
  • Coordinates, oversees, and briefs crew on daily work to be done.
  • Plans and prioritizes job tasks, and trains, directs, organizes, and supervises a crew on the job site for quality work and efficient production.
  • Is familiar with the job site safety plan.
  • Enforces safe practices.
  • Conducts training in safety.
  • Completes safety reports.
  • Ensure that all work meets or exceeds the standards.
  • Manage crew timesheets.
  • Prepares quality and quantity reports, and other required reports.
  • Comprehend blueprints, sketches, and plans.
  • Evaluate, monitor, and report on work progression, while ensuring that all works are conducted in compliance and in line with the man-hour budget.
  • Experience in maintaining short-range look-ahead plans.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the field of work being completed to step in if needed or conduct training.
  • Know what to do if an OSHA inspector comes onsite.
  • Recognize and correct any unsafe conditions that may exist or occur on the job site
  • Assist with job site inspections.
  • Attend any required meetings, including scheduled supervisory meetings

  • Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work by the established Yates Safety Procedures and Work Practices
  • Report all incidents, near hits, and hazards to management.
  • Required to wear and maintain personal PPE.
  • Advise fellow employees of hazardous situations.
  • Participate in workplace inspections.
  • Comply with statutory requirements, including duty of care.
  • Participate in required and assigned training.
  • Provide suggestions to improve Safety.
  • Present a mature approach to working safely.
  • Attend prestart and Safety meetings and contribute.
  • Other related duties as needed and assigned by Field Supervision.
  • This is not an all-inclusive list of tasks an employee may be asked to do. Employees are expected to complete any tasks they are assigned.
Qualifications
  • Level I: Minimum of eight (8) years of construction experience;
    Minimum of six (6) years of craft-classified experience;
    Required minimum of two (2) years of experience in supervision for externally recruited candidates that are not currently a Yates employee;
    Formal education/degree/certificate in construction, technical, or trade school such as NCCER Certification Plus.
  • Level II: Same as Level I;
    Successful completion of Yates Supervisor training.
Requirements
  • Supervise installation per work packs and report quantities
  • Complete time sheets for their direct reports to track progress and verify time
  • Responsible for the quality of the finished product, completing quality documentation including check sheets and final documentation
  • Read ISO's, Blueprints, P&IDs
  • Successful completion of required Safety training to include, but not limited to, Confined Space, LOTO, and Working at Heights
