Courtroom Clerk – State of Nebraska
Location: Scotts Bluff County Courthouse, Gering
Base Pay Range$36,435.31 – $37,346.15 per year
ResponsibilitiesThis classification level works under general supervision and is responsible for spending a majority of time in the courtroom and providing courtroom related work such as capturing and recording verbatim proceedings of court and maintaining case information during and after proceedings. Responsibilities may include preparing documents for each court session (e.g. labeling exhibits, preparing journal entries), recording proceedings, and scheduling future court hearings.
Must have knowledge of all case types (Traffic, criminal, small claims, civil, juvenile, probate, guardian, and conservatorship). May involve travel to other courts. Overtime may be required if court proceedings run behind or late.
- Monitors ongoing case files, including identifying appropriate forms to be completed or received, monitoring case status, issuing & processing warrants and civil suspensions, tracking & maintaining files, and/or performing other related activities.
- Maintains court calendar and schedules interpreters, transportation, prosecutors, defense counsel, and/or events.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; and 2 years of courtroom clerk experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education.

Positions in this class are primarily sedentary; some slight physical effort may be required, not to exceed 20 LBS.
