Lunch Hour Aide
Location: Waters Landing Elementary School, Germantown
Schedule: Part‑time, 1.5 hours per day, Monday–Friday, 12:30–2:00 pm; 10 working months.
Job Grade: 7
Summary: Under general supervision, monitors student activities and behavior on the playground and during lunch periods. Monitors class during testing or brief teacher absences; may assist teachers in classroom activities and perform general clerical tasks.
Responsibilities- Supervise playground and recreational activities, enforcing safety rules and appropriate behavior.
- Maintain order and safety during lunch periods, ensuring students follow cafeteria rules.
- Assist teachers with classroom tasks during testing or brief absences.
- Perform general clerical tasks related to student supervision.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Experience working with elementary school children.
- Knowledge of applicable school regulations, child development, and behavior management techniques.
- Strong communication and human relations skills.
- Patience and ability to work effectively with students.
- Knowledge of the seven core competencies of the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS).
- First aid and CPR certificate desirable.
Ability to patrol and supervise for extended periods, in all weather conditions, enforcing safety rules.
Working ConditionsPatrol playground, cafeteria; supervise students; maintain safe environment. May need to travel between sites.
