FY25 Para educator Level I Combo

Location: Waters Landing Elementary School, Germantown, MD

Schedule: Part‑time, 4 hours/day (12:00‑4:00 p.m.), 5 days a week, 10 months.

Hourly Wage: $23.61 – $34.82 per hour (based on years of service). Benefits link:

• Assist students with Individualized Education Programs (IEP) in general education classes.
• Facilitate mastery of grade‑level curriculum or Alternate Academic Achievement Standards.
• Provide instructional and classroom management support, including small group and individualized instruction.
• Handle related clerical tasks to support teachers and staff.
• Supervise lunch and recess for primary grade students.
• Continue planned instructional activities during teacher's temporary absence.

• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Understanding of child development and instructional strategies for special education.
• Ability to assist with instructional program implementation and student behavior monitoring.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of standard computer hardware/software (Google Workspace, MS Office, web‑based tools).
• Ability to quickly learn SPCGS core competencies.
• Capability to accommodate flexible scheduling, overnight/extended duty.

• Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of nine credit-hours in education‑related coursework.
• One year of experience working with students in structured educational settings preferred.
• If no related coursework, 2–4 years of experience with children/adolescents in structured settings (daycare, preschool, etc.) required.
• Successful completion of Para Pro Assessment with ≥ 455 required.
