Registered Nurse – Operating Room

• Using the Quality Caring Model, the Operating Room Nurse (OR RN) demonstrates expertise in performance and application of the nursing process to plan and manage the care of patients in the operating room setting for patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
• Holy Cross Hospital was first in Montgomery County to offer robotic surgery with the da Vinci® surgical system.

• Plan and deliver patient care
• Collaborate with surgical team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Perform pre-operative assessments, including reviewing patient histories and conducting physical examinations
• Perform scrub functions including selection and handling of instruments and supplies during procedures
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communication of patient condition
• Monitor patients' vital signs and ensure safety and comfort throughout the surgical process
• Assist with specimen collection, processing, and documentation
• Educate patients and family
• Plan continuum of care

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (must obtain BSN/ MSN within a specified timeframe)
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in a surgical setting (scrubbing and circulating)

• BSN or MSN preferred

Pay Range: $41.70 – $55.68 per hour. Pay based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary within the stated range based on location.
