As a Security Officer - Retail Mall Patrols in Germantown, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned retail and mall locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible and approachable.

You will engage with guests and staff, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication.

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner to help maintain order at the location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
• Observe and report any suspicious activities, hazards, or maintenance concerns encountered during patrols.
• Collaborate with Allied Universal management and site representatives to address security-related concerns as they arise.
• Assist with access control procedures and monitor entry and exit points as required by site‑specific guidelines.
• Maintain detailed and accurate logs and reports of daily activities and incidents.

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
