Part-time summer employment at the Germantown Athletic Club facilities leading Summer Camp Counselors and working with children ages 6 to 12. Responsible for directing, supervising and implementing activities for staff and campers in a manner that promotes safe behaviors and improves the quality of the children's interaction with one another.
CAMP DATESMay 26 - July 31, 2026
Mandatory TrainingAll staff must attend mandatory All Staff Training held May 18 - May 21, 2026. Lead Counselors must also attend additional training in May.
SCHEDULEMonday through Friday, 20 to 30 hours per week, 6:45 am-12:30 pm or 12:30 pm-6:15 pm
Examples of Duties- Coordinate, lead and/or participate in all group activities and planning of special events.
- Serve as a role model to young children by demonstrating high standards of personal conduct and providing encouragement and support.
- Handle major discipline problems according to camp policy.
- Report all unusual incidents and accidents to proper camp personnel.
- Guide junior staff assigned to the group. Responsible for campers' safety during any activity.
- Attentive to and follows administrative notices defining camp procedures and policies.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions.
- Requires good customer service skills and ability to lead and teach a variety of recreational activities.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess any of the following skills and ability to teach: age appropriate exercises, indoor and outdoor games/activities, or arts & crafts.
- Previous experience working with large groups of children is preferred.
- Must be CPR and First Aid Certified or ability to obtain.
