Electrical Facilities Technician
Electrical Facilities Technician with Commercial/Industrial electrical systems troubleshooting and maintenance experience in a Data Center and/or Critical Facility environment is needed to support a hyperscale data center through the operations and maintenance of its mission‑critical infrastructure.
Base Pay Range$26.00/hr - $28.00/hr
Responsibilities for the Electrical Facilities Technician- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of electrical infrastructure including switch gear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution units (PDUs), and associated monitoring systems.
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for electrical systems to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.
- Monitor and analyze electrical system performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support capacity planning and load management to optimize electrical system performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT and facility teams to coordinate infrastructure projects and upgrades.
- Assist in the design, commissioning, and integration of new electrical systems and components during facility build‑outs or retrofits.
- Maintain accurate documentation of electrical systems, maintenance records, and compliance reports.
- Manage inventory and assets related to electrical infrastructure.
- Participate in recruiting, training, and mentoring of technical staff.
- Ensure all customer requirements and service level agreements (SLAs) are met with high‑quality service delivery.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a Technical Degree (Military/Trade School) with relevant experience.
- 1–2 years of electrical systems troubleshooting and repair experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
- High attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced, high‑stakes environment.
- 1–2 years of experience in data center engineering or critical facilities operations.
- Experience maintaining critical electrical infrastructure.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems such as chillers and cooling towers.
- Working knowledge of low‑voltage cabling (copper/fiber) and network infrastructure.
- Experience with building management systems (BMS) and electrical monitoring tools.
