Supervisor - Clinical Services

Overview

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

Provide supervision and training of clinical staff to ensure delivery of quality services to the patient.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Supervise and coordinate multidisciplinary and ancillary support staff in the provision of mental health services to patients.
• Provide daily administrative oversight to the team, with technical supervision of licensed clinical staff exercised in accordance with scope‐of‐practice guidelines.
• Provide care coordination as needed to patients to ensure the coordination of care and to facilitate access to needed services.
• Review case records for completeness, consistency, and quality of services provided including application of proper techniques; ensures compliance with state and federal mandates.
• Assist in planning, developing, and implementing mandatory and discretionary programs in accordance with applicable laws, ordinances, and regulations by determining type and level of services to be provided; measure of quality‐assurance to be employed; and formulating and carrying out policies and procedures.
• Review and assess client treatment plans, including short‑and long‑term goals. Review clinical records to evaluate the necessary level of patient care.
• Complete required paperwork including intake forms, progress notes, treatment plans and discharge summaries.
• Document and maintain client contacts, care coordination, crisis/consult contacts, and community contacts according to ethical standards and organizational protocols.
• Conduct treatment plan review as required.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Health or related field required. Master’s degree in behavioral health or related field preferred.
• Three or more years’ clinical experience in a health or human service agency.
• One or more years’ working directly with the facility patient population required.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/

CERTIFICATIONS:

• Certification/Licensure as required by state.
• CPR and de‑escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.
