Job Purpose
The TGT – English is responsible for delivering high-quality English instruction to students from Grades 7 to 10, with a strong focus on Grade 10 CBSE Board examination preparation.
The role involves developing students’ language proficiency, literary appreciation, critical thinking, and academic writing skills aligned with CBSE curriculum requirements. The teacher will ensure structured academic planning, rigorous assessment practices, and measurable student progress, particularly in board classes.
The position demands academic depth, exam-oriented strategy, curriculum alignment, and commitment to holistic language development.
Key
Roles & Responsibilities
Curriculum Planning & Academic Delivery
- Plan and deliver structured lessons aligned with CBSE curriculum for Grades 7–10.
- Ensure thorough coverage and revision planning for Grade 10 Board syllabus.
- Integrate grammar, writing skills, literature analysis, and reading comprehension in daily instruction.
Board Examination Preparation (Grade 10 Focus)
- Design exam-oriented lesson plans and structured revision schedules.
- Conduct regular pre-board assessments, mock tests, and answer-writing practice.
- Train students in time management, presentation skills, and board exam strategies.
- Analyse previous years’ CBSE papers and align classroom practice accordingly.
Assessment & Academic Tracking
- Design competency-based question papers aligned with CBSE pattern.
- Maintain academic progress records and performance analysis reports.
- Identify low-performing students and implement remedial interventions.
- Track measurable improvement in writing skills, grammar accuracy, and comprehension.
Language Development & Literary Engagement
- Foster reading culture, vocabulary enhancement, and expressive communication.
- Encourage debate, public speaking, creative writing, and analytical discussions.
- Develop appreciation for diverse literary genres and themes.
Classroom Management & Student Mentorship
- Create a disciplined, engaging, and academically rigorous learning environment.
- Mentor students for academic excellence and personal growth.
- Promote values, empathy, and responsible communication.
Collaboration & Institutional Contribution
- Work collaboratively with English department for common planning and assessments.
- Participate in result analysis meetings and academic reviews.
- Contribute to curriculum enrichment, competitions, and school literary events.
- Align teaching practices with institutional needs and academic standards.
Recruiting Points
Qualifications
- Postgraduate Degree in English (Mandatory)
- B.Ed. (Mandatory)
- CTET/TET qualification preferred
- Strong knowledge of CBSE curriculum and Board pattern
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of Grade 10 Board teaching experience (Mandatory).
- Proven record of strong Board results.
- Experience in competency-based and NEP-aligned assessment practices preferred.
Skills
- Strong command over English language and literature.
- Expertise in CBSE Board paper pattern and evaluation scheme.
- Ability to train students in analytical and structured answer writing.
- Strong classroom management and mentoring skills.
