Transport Head
Location:
Sahibabad
Role & responsibilities
Monitor timely and accurate placement of the transport fleet, monitor complaints from sales on a daily basis, check bills of transporters on a regular basis, interact with upcountry dealers, monitor signature on challans with the objective of attaining timely delivery, cost effectiveness, competitive advantage, relevant circulation and ensure data is ABC compliant.
Areas of Responsibility (Key Result Areas):
- Ensure on time delivery of all transport Fleet:
Plan and organize placement of the transport fleet in an effective manner, analyse the change in PO in order to ensure on time delivery and achieve optimum satisfaction of the RMD sales
- Adherence to Transportation Budget :
Innovate and implement new techniques of distribution, identify techniques to use bigger vehicles, strategize and identify alternate routes, right vehicle mix in order to ensure distribution costs is within the budgeted levels
- Systematization of the Entire Logistics Process:
Supervise implementation of transport module in SAP, billing process; plan delivery commitment, movement of goods to final payment to transporters in order to ensure accurate data is maintained.
- Training :
Monitor and enhance the performance of the team through regular interactive group discussions and imparting training in order to enhance the skills of the team members.
- Compliance with ABC norms:
Monitor maintenance of records in order to ensure all records are maintained as per ABC norms
- Decision Making Authority:
In case of any contingency decision regarding change of vehicle, transporter
- Exercise independent decision-making: during contingencies related to vehicle deployment, route changes and vendor escalations
Job Accountability Indicators:
- Financial - Responsible for transport cost governance and optimisation within approved budgets
- Non-Financial - Responsible for circulation for relevant area Timely circulation delivery, SLA adherence, audit compliance, continuity and risk mitigation.

Relevant
Experience:
8
-12 years of experience in Logistics from newspaper industry/FMCG or other high volume distribution environments
Educational Qualifications
Required:
Graduate / MBA in Distribution and Logistics (preferred)
