Job DescriptionThe Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) performs responsible and delegated clinical work in the assigned locations while under the supervision of the Registered and/or Licensed Vocational Nurse and is responsible for the care and treatment of individuals in accordance with accepted professional, legal and ethical nursing and or clinical standards. The CMA is also under the direction and leadership of the Regional Center Director, the Director of Outpatient Nursing, and the Nurse Manager.
Primary responsibilities include laboratory collections, individual and family education regarding medications, health and nutrition, behavioral health, and substance use under the guidance of the RN and or LVN. This position will also be responsible for administering injections, performing venipuncture, administering urine drug screens, pregnancy tests and other point of care testing as ordered by the providers. The CMA will demonstrate adherence to all agency policies and procedures and support behavioral health, substance use, developmental disabilities, primary care, and medicated assisted treatment programs.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm and may assist other clinics as assigned.
Location:
Giddings, TX. Hourly Salary Range: $18.39 – $24.14
- Up to $2.00/hour – previous experience with a community center in a similar role
- $1.00/hour – Career ladder specialty
- $0.75/hour – Bilingual
- $1.00/hour – Tenure with BTCS

Minimum Qualifications- Current certification of certified medical assistant
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Current CPR certification
- Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment
- Experience in an outpatient, inpatient, or residential setting of behavioral health or substance use facilities
- Experience working in a medical surgical unit or in a primary care clinic
- Working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Bilingual
Salary Amount: $38,251.20 – $50,211.20/year
