General Description

Performs advanced (senior‑level) managerial work in treatment consultation and technical assistance. Provides leadership and guidance to all direct‑care staff regarding implementation and maintenance of The Texas Model. Works closely with executive‑level administrators, half‑way house administration, and other staff to support implementation at the assigned facility, ensuring safety, security, and Texas Model principles. Demonstrates DBT methods and practices, creates and coordinates resources to support staff learning, evaluates staff knowledge, skills and abilities, collaborates with Texas Model mentors at other facilities, and coaches staff across the intervention continuum.

Essential

Duties
  • Lead and consult on all aspects of TJJD’s implementation of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
  • Manage, mentor, model, and coach Texas Model elements to staff and youth.
  • Provide direction, guidance, and assistance to staff and youth in program areas.
  • Role model treatment and engagement strategies.
  • Work with campus leadership and Central Support administrators for quality assurance and training for all Texas Model competencies.
  • Consult with Youth Support Teams to assess clinical knowledge, skills, teamwork, and develop intervention plans.
  • Manage and work with staff to develop shaping and contingency management plans, including token economy.
  • Facilitate/co‑facilitate DBT skills groups with case managers and team leads, and support DBT skills group implementation on campus.
  • Develop and maintain campus report cards and monitor implementation goals.
  • Communicate concerns or issues timely to local leadership and executive administrators.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Comply with agency safety policies and procedures, report hazards, complete required documentation for accidents, and adhere to attendance and leave policies.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time and work on days requiring on‑call or overtime.
  • Actively embody and support the Texas Model 2.0 and its core values in daily interactions.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with coursework in business, public administration, criminal justice, social work, behavioral science, or related field.
  • Full‑time wage‑earning experience implementing an evidence‑based treatment to fidelity.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of full‑time wage‑earning experience in a juvenile correctional environment.
  • Training or certification in an evidence‑based practice, behavioral intervention, or cognitive‑behavioral treatment.
  • Year‑for‑year substitution of one year of appropriate experience for one year of college (30 course hours).
