The 3rd floor Medical Telemetry unit hony Hospital is a 32‑bed unit that cares for a wide array of medical patients. As a member of this team, you will care for patients treated for stroke, infectious disease, pulmonary, GI, and many other diagnoses. Our team also proudly cares for patients pre/post diagnostic cardiac catheterization procedures. We have six rooms fully plumbed to handle dialysis patients.
All rooms in our unit are private with their own restrooms, supply cabinets, and couches and privacy curtains for the comfort of families who wish to stay close. Each room is equipped with a computer to facilitate documentation and medication verification. We utilize Epic as our electronic health record.
- Work includes developing, implementing, and assessing the patient plan of care during the stay in collaboration with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and the patient/family.
- Direct patient care, including assessing, planning, coordinating, evaluating, and delegating work to members of the patient care team, and providing education and consultation to patients, families, physicians, and other staff members to implement appropriate nursing interventions for optimal patient care.
- Work under standards of safety and care that provide instruction/guidance for taking care of issues and patient needs in the absence of a physician; require use of judgment and critical thinking skills in making decisions regarding patient care (within scope of practice), including knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data, and efficient utilization of staff/resources.
- Work involves continuous contact with physicians, patients, patient families, community agencies, patient care staff and management.
- An incumbent is accountable for the quality of care provided to patients, has the authority to direct care, provide education, seek resources at the unit/department level, and delegate appropriate tasks.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Previous Medical/Surgical experience preferred.
- Current RN license from the Washington State Board of Nursing.
