We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join Petzen Animal Wellness in beautiful Gig Harbor, Washington.

About You
  • You are an experienced Veterinary Assistant with outstanding client service skills and excellent patient care.
  • Quick on your feet, you are a dynamic and efficient worker who contributes to the operation of the entire hospital, helping to get all the day’s duties done!
  • You understand that clear, effective communication among clients and team members is a priority and are dedicated to make a difference in the lives of patients and their families.
  • You have a strong foundational understanding and can perform the basic responsibilities of a veterinary assistant including (but not limited to):
  • Patient assessment and physical examinations
  • Phlebotomy and catheter placement
  • Knowledge of radiology safety and proper technique
  • Anesthesia monitoring proficiency
  • Perioperative surgical nursing skills
  • Routine dental prophylaxis experience
  • Knowledge of basic laboratory procedures
Anticipated Schedule
  • Full time positions include 4 shifts per week (32-38hrs)
  • Rotating weekend duties
  • Part-time opportunities may be available
  • Hospital hours are:
  • Tuesday – Friday 9am‑6pm
  • Saturday: 9am – 3pm

Compensation: $20‑$25/hr depending on experience.
