You're a seasoned plan reviewer who can dig into a complex, politically sensitive project and know exactly what to look for. You bring several years of hands-on experience reviewing engineering and construction documents for compliance with zoning guidelines and requirements — and you're just as comfortable interpreting a legal description as you are explaining a code requirement to a frustrated developer.
You're the person newer examiners turn to when a case gets complicated, and you take pride in mentoring them through it. You communicate clearly and confidently with builders, contractors, and the public, bringing a steady, detail-oriented approach to every plan that crosses your desk.
At Team Gilbert, we hire innovative, forward-thinking problem-solvers who love what they do! In addition to possessing the ability to live out our core and functional values daily, candidates must possess the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree. Emphasis in planning, architectural engineering, construction plans examination, or a closely related field is desirable.
- 4–5 years of experience with construction plan review and working with complex residential and non-residential projects, reports, legal descriptions, and code implementation.
- Customer service experience responding to questions, concerns, and processes from the public
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this classification
