Shift: Wednesday and Thursday (2pm-10pm)

Position Summary: The Caregiver supports residents in Daily Living Activities, including bathing, grooming, personal and dental hygiene, transportation to meals and activities, and bowel/bladder functions, while maintaining resident dignity and delivering superior customer service in accordance with policies, procedures, regulations, and guidelines.

Essential Job Duties

• Respond to resident needs promptly and kindly while maintaining self-respect, personal dignity, safety, and confidentiality (50%)
• Read and follow care plans to ensure proper care
• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, hygiene, meals, activities, and continence needs
• Provide assistance at mealtime with selecting meals, serving, eating, clearing, and delivering room trays as needed
• Transport residents and assist with transfers using safe techniques; escort to/from meals and activities
• Perform regular safety checks on residents
• Encourage participation in daily activities (bed making, laundry, cleaning, setting tables)
• Invite, encourage, assist and lead residents in meaningful activities
• Perform laundry and assist with other community tasks as required
• Manage oxygen tanks and concentrators per physician orders
• Chart and document information and communicate changes in condition to a supervisor
• Respond promptly to resident alerts and emergencies
• Ensure resident safety and comfort during safety drills

Non-Essential Job Duties

• Maintain a positive professional image and MBK core values
• Encourage teamwork and open communication with coworkers and other departments
• Demonstrate effective time management to complete daily assignments
• Display tact and friendliness with residents, families, and guests
• Adhere to MBK policies on meal breaks and rest periods
• Perform other duties as assigned by directors

• Age 18 or over, or have proper work permit
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Caregiver certification
• Nurses Aid certification preferred
• Current first aid certification
• Background clearances as required by regulations
• Health screening and negative TB test within 6 months or 7 days of employment
• Prior caregiving experience preferred; on-the-job training available
• Must be able to read and speak English
• Ability to follow oral and written directions; interact effectively with diverse people
• Meet and maintain state regulatory requirements

• Must be mobile and able to perform physical tasks (kneeling, squatting, reaching, bending)
• Lift 40+ pounds and push 150 pounds unassisted
