We're looking for a seasoned Payroll Manager who can operate independently, solve complex problems, and drive continuous improvement. This role requires someone comfortable with ambiguity, strong compliance expertise, and the ability to partner cross‑functionally across Finance, HR, Legal, and Operations.

This hybrid role requires 2–3 days per week onsite in Gilbert, AZ.

• Lead complex problem‑solving across payroll, systems, compliance, and operations
• Maintain expert‑level knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Proactively identify compliance risks and embed controls into processes
• Optimize HRIS/payroll systems and troubleshoot workflows
• Communicate technical payroll concepts to non‑technical partners
• Drive strategic improvements that support scaling and organizational growth

• 7+ years of progressive payroll management experience
• Workday implementation experience (must‑have)
• Strong multi‑state payroll and compliance background
• Experience with reporting, analytics, or BI tools
• Hands‑on optimization of modern HRIS/payroll systems
• Proven cross‑functional collaboration
• Ability to operate in a fast‑growing, evolving environment

• CPP or equivalent certification
• Experience in HR transformation or systems implementation
• Exposure to executive‑level financial planning or strategic operations
