We are looking for an experienced sewer that is looking for advancement. As a Protective Apparel Technician, you won't just be 'on the line' — you'll be the difference between worn-out gear and mission-ready PPE that protects lives. Every stitch you repair, every seam you inspect, and every custom modification you build helps ensure that firefighters, first responders, and industrial crews can go into danger with gear they trust.

• Be a vital part of safety and readiness — you ensure that turnout gear and personal protective ensembles meet rigorous safety standards and perform exactly as needed when lives are on the line. This isn't 'just maintenance,' it's a critical mission.
• Work with purpose and pride — you're joining a team dedicated exclusively to PPE care. That singular focus means you become an expert — not a jack-of-all trades.
• Learn and master rare skills — you'll operate industrial sewing machines, make precise alterations and repairs, fabricate gear bags and custom accessories, and perform quality controls that matter in life-and-death scenarios.

• Repairing, altering, and fabricating high-performance turnout gear and PPE to meet safety standards such as NFPA 1850.
• Producing high-quality patches, gear bags, custom modifications, and aftermarket accessories — giving gear a new life and customized edge.
• Operating industrial equipment with care and pride, maintaining accurate sewing logs and adhering to strict safety rules.
• Performing thorough inspections and quality checks so every item we deliver is fully functional, safe, and dependable.

Must Have Skills

• Strong sewing ability.
• Prior work history with heavy fabric and hardware.
• Lifting and handling elements that can weigh up to 10 pounds each.
• Able to speak, read, write and comprehend English.

Must Have Soft Skills

• Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
• Willingness to learn and be flexible.
• Strong Work Ethic.
• Demonstrated good judgment and a high degree of integrity.
• Self-starter with willingness to do whatever is necessary to support the team.

Nice to Have

• Bilingual preferred
• Knowledge and experience with various fabrics and materials used for personal protective ensemble elements.
• Experience with various industrial sewing machines.
• Experience with pattern creation and alterations with heavy fabrics.
