Aerostat Field Service Representative (FSR)/Operator

Advanced Technology Systems Company (ATSC) is seeking Aerostat Field Service Representatives (FSRs)/Operators to join our growing team in Gilbert, AZ or McLean, VA. This position will serve both CONUS and OCONUS duty locations. The aerostat FSR/Operator is responsible for the operational readiness of Aerostats and Aerostat Ground Control Stations (GCS).

• Perform a wide range of technician tasks, including mechanical disassembly/assembly of user‑level maintenance functions; preventive maintenance checks and service (PMCS); troubleshooting; removal and replacement of Line Replaceable Units (LRU’s); and basic IT functions.
• Read and understand schematics, technical drawings, engineering data, and reports.
• Perform wiring, soldering, operate standard and unique test equipment, fabricate aerostat lines, repair aerostat fabric, and handle high‑pressure helium tanks.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and aerostat structures, hydraulic systems, fiber optic components, avionics, and electrical components.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair ground support equipment such as generators, communication, and weather systems.
• Maintain and understand ATSC/site documentation, including parts request forms, timecards, and maintenance logs.
• Operate general and special purpose vehicles, including forklifts and manlifts up to a height of 150 feet.
• Instruct students during hands‑on portions of training programs.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Minimum 1 year of qualified experience as a tower or aerostat FSR/Operator, or minimum 2 years in electrical maintenance or mechanical maintenance on elevated sensor systems (e.g., fixed tower, mobile platforms).
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must have a valid US Passport and a current US driver’s license.
• If prior US Military, must have an honorable discharge.
• Must be able to pass a detailed investigation and maintain the necessary US‑issued security clearance (DOD Secret Clearance required).
• Ability to travel to and/or work in austere, hostile, or remote locations.
• Must be a US citizen.

• Regular standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, manual dexterity, stair climbing, speaking, hearing, and seeing are required.
• Ability to lift 25–50 pounds.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
