Phoenix Children's is seeking experienced nurse leaders to join our growing team as Clinical RN Supervisors for the Medical Surgical/ICU (MOSU) at our new East Valley Campus. This is a unique night shift opportunity to help build a new unit and team from the ground up while expanding pediatric care for children and families in the East Valley community.
As a Clinical RN Supervisor, you will provide frontline clinical and operational leadership while supporting daily unit operations, staffing, patient care, quality and safety initiatives, staff development, coaching, and unit-based committees. Clinical Supervisors will lead approximately 15-20 direct reports and work closely with nursing leadership, providers, interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families to establish a collaborative, high-performing culture.
We are seeking candidates with at least two years of nursing experience and demonstrated leadership experience. Current Clinical Supervisors from Acute Care or Critical Care environments are encouraged to apply, and experienced Charge Nurses who are ready to take the next step into formal leadership will also be considered. Pediatric, Med Surg, PICU, and/or critical care experience is highly valued. Candidates must have an Arizona RN license in good standing.
A BSN is highly preferred, along with PALS and nursing specialty certification; support may be available for candidates who need to obtain required certifications within the designated timeframe.
Night Shift opportunities are available, with 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM-7:00 AM.

The Nursing Services Supervisor coordinates shift operational flow in conjunction with organizational and departmental strategic goals, objectives, and standards and is the hospital's clinical representative/resource for patients, families, and the healthcare team, at both the unit and organization levels. This position provides clinical leadership of patient care services and directs supervision of nursing and support staff to ensure consistent provision of developmentally appropriate quality patient care in accordance with all applicable federal, regulatory, professional standards and requirements.
Provides clinical leadership with accountability in promoting quality patient care and an engaging work environment, during assigned shift.
- Coordinates/leads daily clinical operational activities of the unit and organization by ensuring that quality family centered care is delivered in an efficient work environment.
1. Manages patient throughput - balances unit patient care activities while overseeing the delivery of patient care, coordinating admissions, discharges, transfers, and rounding daily on patients and families.
2. Oversees staffing processes - coordinates assignments using established staffing levels that match individualized patient needs with staff competencies, and staff skill mix through ongoing assessment of patient and unit needs.
3. Monitors unit environment - ensures that staff has the supplies, equipment, information, and resources needed to provide quality patient care in a safe work environment.
4. Staffs, schedules, and appropriately uses nursing and support staff.
5. Documentation - updates scheduling, occurrence reports, patient/family concerns, and quality indicators in the real time environment maximizing resolution prior to the end of the shift.
6. Provides a report to the oncoming Nursing Services Supervisor or designee including the status of patient throughput, staffing processes, unit environment, schedules, occurrence reports, patient/family concerns, and quality indicators. - Collaborates with manager to lead, create, and maintain an environment that advocates for staff and promotes individual/team engagement through clinical/administrative expertise and professional leadership.
1. Demonstrates and promotes clinical leadership - serves as a clinical and systems expert with nursing and interdisciplinary team members in the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of the age-specific individualized patient/family-centered plan of care and documented actions.
