Location and Availability

Grand Canyon BU - Region 04 - Market 03: 33 S Val Vista Dr, Gilbert, Arizona 85296.

Availability – Shift/Days: Flexible Availability.

Essential Duties
  • Leadership and Management: Directly supervise 2 or more full‑time employees (Assistant Manager(s), Lead Representative(s), Customer Service Representative(s)).
  • Recruit, hire and train positive, enthusiastic employees, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Develop, manage and assign tasks to keep the store clean, stocked, organized and well‑kept.
  • Maintain a professional and supportive image among subordinates and supervisor.
  • Schedule employees within company guidelines to maximize customer service and store image.
  • Implement non‑discriminatory hiring, training, counseling, mentoring, motivating and separating employees.
  • Store Relationships: Build positive relationships with suppliers, resolve customer complaints in a timely, professional manner, ensure reliable onsite attendance and promote a safe, positive public image.
  • Training and Development: Prepare performance appraisals in Workday, train employees on customer service, store image, marketing execution, safety procedures and cash awareness, ensure completion of required training.
  • Communications: Ensure proper communication for all employees, establish periodic meetings with all store employees and the Market Manager.
  • Organizing and Planning: Develop action plans, maintain files and manuals, supervise reporting, merchandising and compliance with posters.
  • Financial: Analyze daily sales and expense information, budget and forecast P&L lines, manage merchandise margins, safeguard money, perform other financial analysis and report discrepancies to the Market Manager.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 1–2 years of retail work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
  • Ability to supervise and train for the use of equipment, tools and materials listed in the CSR, LSR and SA job descriptions.
  • Pass‑through of computer skills needed for reports, inventory, cash control and employment forms.
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
  • Open availability.
  • Strong oral and written communication in English.
  • Physical ability to perform essential duties and conditions described.
  • Operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to sit for long periods; lift up to 50 lb as required.
  • Food Server certificate (e.g., Serv Safe) and Food Safety Management certification may be required.
Physical Requirements
  • Work minimum 50 hrs per week.
  • Work in cold or warm temperature extremes, occasional walk‑in cooler and/or freezer, outdoors.
  • Lift up to 30 lb from ground to overhead; up to 50 lb from ground to waist.
  • Manipulate objects with hands, push/pull up to 20 lb, reach overhead.
  • Work alone, stand/walk entire shift, stoop/kneel/squat, cope with noise.
Work Environment
  • 50 hrs per week, all shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • 95% of work indoors, includes cleaning parking lots, gas pumps, etc.
  • Exposure to extreme cold, occasional noise.
  • Minimum direction, periodic supervision.
