The Comfort Consultant is a dedicated in-home sales professional responsible for driving new equipment and service sales within an assigned trade: HVAC, plumbing, or electrical. You will meet with residential customers, assess their needs, present solutions, and close sales that deliver real value to homeowners while hitting the revenue and margin targets the business depends on. This is a performance-driven role for someone who combines genuine customer care with a relentless desire to win.
Key Responsibilities- In-Home Sales: Conduct in-home consultations with residential customers to understand their needs, assess their current systems, and present tailored solutions across your assigned trade.
- Needs Assessment: Perform thorough on-site evaluations to identify issues, recommend appropriate equipment or services, and develop accurate proposals that reflect the scope of work required.
- Solution Presentation: Present and explain the features, benefits, and value of recommended products and services clearly and confidently, addressing customer concerns and objections with expertise and empathy.
- Proposal and Agreement Management: Prepare accurate, detailed proposals, contracts, and sales agreements. Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with company standards.
- Pipeline and Follow-Up: Proactively manage a sales pipeline by following up on leads, referrals, and unconverted estimates. Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions and sales activity in CRM.
- Installation Handoff: Collaborate with the installation team to ensure a smooth project handoff and exceptional customer experience through completion.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, generating repeat business and referrals through consistent service and follow-through.
- Market and Product Knowledge: Stay current on trade-specific products, industry trends, and financing options to deliver informed, confident recommendations to every customer.
- Proven experience in residential in-home sales, preferably in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical services
- Strong sales track record with demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets
- Technical knowledge of residential systems within the assigned trade
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly with homeowners
- Confident, persuasive presenter who can explain complex concepts in plain language
- Customer-centric mindset with a commitment to doing right by the homeowner
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales tools
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record

What Onboarding Looks LikeIn your first 30 days, you will learn our products, pricing, financing options, and sales process while beginning to run appointments with support from your sales manager. By day 60, you will be running appointments independently and building your pipeline with consistent follow-up and conversion activity. By day 90, you are a fully productive Comfort Consultant hitting your sales targets, managing your pipeline with discipline, and delivering a customer experience that generates repeat business and referrals.
