Duties

and Responsibilities

Inspect various roof types, including flat, sloped, and green roofs, to determine the best materials and methods for installation or repair.

Prepare roofing plans and layouts that accommodate the specific needs of each project including consideration of climatic conditions and environmental factors.

Install different types of roofing systems such as shingles, tiles, slate, metal panels, or membranes using hand tools, power tools, and accessories.

Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations and building codes during roof installation or maintenance processes.

Regularly assess construction sites to identify possible hazards; rectify any potential safety threats and regularly maintain equipment.

Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and architects to ensure specifications are clear and work is completed correctly and on schedule.

Perform regular updates to job-related documentation, recording details like materials used, time taken, and adjustments made during installation processes.

Provide excellent customer service, resolving client issues during and after the construction phase, and ensuring satisfaction with provided solutions.

Educate clients on proper roof maintenance to extend the lifespan and performance of the installed roofing systems.

Remain updated on industry trends, new materials, and technologies in roof installation to enhance the quality and efficiency of work.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Roofing Installer, with documented proficiency in installing and maintaining both commercial and residential roofing systems.
Solid understanding of construction methods, roofing tools, and materials, along with a strong grasp of regional building codes and safety regulations.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and technical documentation.
Physical fitness and ability to perform demanding manual tasks in outdoor conditions and at heights.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members, clients, and other professionals involved in the construction processes.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development related to roofing technology and materials.
A valid driver’s license and the flexibility to travel to various job sites as required by company projects.
Certification or completion of vocational training in roofing or a similar field is highly regarded.
Attention to detail, especially concerning project specifications and client requirements.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
