Traffic Control Supervisor
Aktiv Insight, a leader in traffic management solutions, is excited to announce the availability of a career opportunity for a Traffic Control Supervisor. This pivotal role is designed for a dedicated individual who thrives in ensuring the safe and efficient flow of traffic around construction and maintenance zones. The position is Full-Time and requires the candidate to be onsite, as it is not a remote job.
You will be instrumental in maintaining safety standards and protocols that protect both the public and our workforce. The successful candidate will oversee the setup, operation, and removal of traffic control systems and ensure the smooth execution of traffic plans according to state and local regulations.
- Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barricades.
- Read and implement traffic control plans accurately, ensuring all measures align with statutory requirements.
- Ensure that all work zones meet or exceed safety and compliance standards.
- Operate company vehicles and equipment, including trucks and sign trailers, safely and responsibly.
- Communicate effectively with project crews and contractors to coordinate efforts and address any issues on the spot.
- Monitor and manage traffic flow to minimize congestion and ensure the safety of workers and the public.
- Inspect traffic signs, road markers, and other traffic control devices for proper positioning and visibility.
- Report any incidents or safety hazards encountered on-site to the appropriate authorities immediately.
- Train and supervise a team of traffic control technicians to ensure they follow safety protocols.
- Attend and participate in safety meetings, providing updates and feedback to management on traffic control activities.
- Stay updated with the latest traffic management tools, technologies, and best practices.
- Current ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) certification.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification will be an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in traffic control or a related field, with a proven track record of managing complex traffic plans.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
- Pass pre-employment drug screening tests.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Flexible availability, including the ability to work days, nights, or weekends, as required to meet project timelines.
- Knowledge of relevant safety and transport laws and regulations affecting work zones.
