The Campbell County Circuit Court in Gillette, Wyoming seeks a Clerk to prepare and process court documents, perform judicial procedures, and work with the court case management system. This position assists with the accounting and financial records of the court. Candidates should possess strong communication, planning, organizational, scheduling, clerical, and data entry skills. The court handles misdemeanor, small claims, civil, forcible entry, detainer cases and issues protection orders.

Essential Functions / Duties Customer Service- Provide customer service to a high volume of pro se litigants, giving general procedural information without giving legal advice in person, on the phone, or via email.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with individuals.
- Address and resolve issues and concerns raised by customers in a timely and effective manner.
- Use case management system to track cases: open, docket, and disposition with appropriate event codes and data entry.
- Process, maintain, and distribute documents such as bench warrants, petitions to revoke, subpoenas, and appeals.
- Prepare, proofread, edit, and mail out notices and final orders.
- Schedule and track deadlines to move cases forward and meet procedural requirements.
- Collect fees, fines, bond money, garnishments, and restitution; apply credits and issue receipts.
- Balance cash drawer by payment type and ensure accuracy in the case management system.
- Prepare end‑of‑day reports, balance daily receipts, deposits, and disburse monies per established procedures.
- Calendar court dates, confirm arrangements, and notify relevant parties.
- Take legible notes of all proceedings and operate the automated court recording system.
- Post proceedings to case files, distribute judicial orders, and maintain payment schedules.
- Issue jury summons, maintain list, process payments, and send questionnaires.
- Assist in preparing files for storage, drug court procedures, and other duties.
- Verify request legitimacy and redact confidential information from public files.
- Prepare record checks by searching indexes and documents.
- Collect, sort, distribute, and send mail, email, or other information; responsible for court correspondence.
- Legal secretary experience.
- More than two years of administrative or executive assistant experience.
- Bookkeeping experience.
- Professional and courteous interactions with all stakeholders.
- Analytical ability, administrative skills, ingenuity, and independent judgement.
- Attend work regularly and arrive on time.
- Assess, evaluate, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks and projects.
- Work within deadlines to complete projects and assignments.
- Establish effective work relations with co‑workers and others.
- Explain court procedures clearly and concisely.
- Operate computers and specialized software applications.
- Operate office and courtroom equipment.
- Prepare clear written and electronic documents, correspondence, forms, and reports.
- Circuit Court policies, processes, and procedures.
- Legal requirements for court operations and case processing.
- General office procedures; proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Applicable State and Federal rules, codes, and regulations.
- State and County policies and procedures.
- Legal terminology.
- Principles for managing official documents and records.
- File and records management principles.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 1 year of progressive clerical work experience.
