Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a long-term care/skilled nursing facility position requiring a WY or compact RN license and expertise in Med/Surg and geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Work in a long-term care/skilled nursing facility with a 160-bed capacity

• Provide care for adult patients ranging in age from their 30s to 90s with complex medical diagnoses

• Perform IV therapy, wound vac and wound management, trach care, ostomy care, medication administration, therapy, and restorative procedures

• Potential assignment as a medication administration nurse with a primary caseload of 20 residents; nurse-to-patient ratio may vary based on medication aide support

• 12-hour shifts with requirements to work days, nights, and weekends per facility need

• Use Meditech for computerized medical record documentation and Med Right for medication administration

• Equipment utilized includes vital sign towers, glucometers, lifts, bladder scanner, IV pumps, CADD pumps, wound vacs, SCD (occasionally), and assistive devices

• Certified nurse aides provide additional support

• Must be willing to work in all facility neighborhoods based on staffing needs

• Initial orientation consists of 2 days

• Required to comply with facility dress code; scrubs must be worn, no facial piercings, and full sleeve or objectionable tattoos must be covered

• Shift assignments will vary and are determined by facility needs

• Holiday and weekend coverage required

Requirements

• Active WY or compact RN license required

• Current BLS certification required

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg and geriatric nursing experience required
