As a Retail Merchandiser, you'll have the opportunity to work independently to showcase your organizational and time‑management skills, establish retailer relationships, and be the face of Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory levels, while supporting seasonal resets and installations as needed. Occasionally you may work with other products from partner companies in the stores you service.
Salaryand Schedule Details
- Your starting pay will be between $14.85 and $15.85, depending on your skills and experience.
- This is a Part‑Time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
- Weekly hours are between 5 and 10 per week.
- Availability the week before and after major holidays, which may include weekends, is required.
You will perform service work in the Hallmark department of various retail stores such as grocery, drug, department, and mass retailers. The role consists of three major components:
- Day‑to‑day engagement: Using a mobile device provided by Hallmark, you will restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark products within and outside the Hallmark department. Technology is critical for daily tasks, communication with supervisors, reporting time, and completing required merchandising activities. Professional and courteous interaction with store employees, managers, and customers is essential.
- Holiday support: Hallmark’s operations revolve around seasonal demand, with additional days and extended hours leading up to and following holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. On certain holidays you may need to work on the actual holiday or the weekend.
- Department resets: You may participate in a team responsible for installations and various tasks such as building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments, and resetting card sections. Remodel assignments are typically notified two weeks in advance and may include evenings or weekends.
- Team collaboration: You are part of Hallmark’s field organization, supporting other merchandisers as needed within your territory.
This is a physically demanding role requiring a high level of energy and urgency. You will work on the sales floor and in back stockrooms, repeatedly pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds daily and up to 50 pounds on occasion. Kneeling, squatting, walking, and standing are constant, and you may need to climb stairs and step ladders.
BasicQualifications
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Strength to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to operate a digital handheld device to open and read documents.
- Access to Wi‑Fi and the internet.
- Consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
