Quantity Surveyor – High-End Refurbishment

£70m Cut & Carve Project | Central London
Salary up to £80,000 + Package + Bonus
Medway, Kent (Head Office Based)

We’re currently working with a well-established main contractor to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a prestigious £70 million high-end cut & carve refurbishment project in Central London.

This is a standout opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to take a key role on a technically complex, flagship scheme while being based from a Kent head office, offering a more balanced alternative to full-time London office working.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will join a stable and well-structured commercial team, supporting the delivery of major refurbishment and fit-out projects across Central London. The immediate focus will be a large-scale cut & carve scheme involving significant structural alteration and high-spec finishes.

Projects typically range from £1m to £100m, providing long-term variety, challenge, and career progression.

The Role

You will be responsible for the full commercial management of your projects, from procurement through to final account, working closely with project and design teams.

Key responsibilities include:

* Managing all commercial and contractual aspects of refurbishment projects

* Preparing interim valuations, cost reports, forecasts, and final accounts

* Subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and account management

* Identifying, valuing, and agreeing variations and change control

* Cash flow forecasting and financial reporting

* Proactive commercial risk management and value optimisation

* Close collaboration with Project Managers, Design Managers, and Clients

* Supporting the successful delivery of complex structural refurbishment works

About You

* Minimum 8 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor

* Strong background working for a main contractor

* Proven experience in high-end commercial refurbishment and fit-out

* Experience on cut & carve or structurally complex schemes highly desirable

* Solid working knowledge of JCT contracts

* Commercially focused, detail-oriented, and self-motivated

* Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills

* Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
