We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant with an ASD specialism to support a Year 5 pupil at a welcoming school located in Gillingham, Kent.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and helping them thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil (Year
5) with ASD
Support learning, communication, and emotional regulation
Implement strategies in line with EHCP targets
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment
Essential Requirements:
Experience supporting children with ASD (school-based preferred)
Understanding of KS2 curriculum and SEN strategies
Patient, reliable, and adaptable approach
Desirable:
SEN or TA qualification
Experience with visual supports, routines, or behaviour strategies
