The Purpose of this position is to maintain and care for restoration and conservation sites in rural and wildland environments. The role involves hands-on fieldwork including vegetation management, invasive species removal, site preparation, and ongoing maintenance activities to support habitat restoration projects.

Position Description
:
Daily tasks include manual labor such as weed removal, brush clearing, and site improvements using hand tools and equipment. This fieldwork is essential to maintaining healthy ecosystems and ensuring the success of conservation efforts on rural properties.

Focus & Scope
:
Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Actively participate in the implementation and maintenance of habitat restoration projects.
• Direct and work with labor crews in the field to complete tasks.
• Assist in the collection and reporting of various monitoring requirements.
• Occasionally operate small equipment for seeding and other specialized restoration projects.
• Install, operate, and maintain various irrigation systems.
• Maintain, repair, and organize tools, vehicles, and other equipment.
• Conduct extensive weed abatement in both upland and wetland environments.
• Clearly communicate with supervisor on status of projects.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers, company employees, and external customers.
• Work extensively for long periods of time on various site conditions.

Qualifications And Requirements
:
Minimum 6-months to 1-year of experience conducting habitat restoration projects. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation. Valid Driver’s License. Current on all company required safety training.

• Ability to preserve confidential and proprietary information and successfully avoid conflicts-of-interest.
• Knowledge of Standard Operating Policies and Procedures.
• Ability to consistently appear for work on time.
• Ability to work authorized overtime as required.
• Valid CA driver’s license and good driving record.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and supervise others.
• Possess the strength and agility to perform maintenance work in an outdoor setting for long periods.
• Possession of or ability to obtain Pesticide Applicator’s Certificate within one year of hire.
• General knowledge of local flora and weed species.

Equipment Used
, Physical Demands, and Work Environment
:
Automobile, ATV, small tools, and various equipment. Job sites include uneven ground, steep slopes, exposure to extreme temperature and/or humidity. Frequent bending and squatting throughout the day.

• Carrying loads of 30-40 pounds for extended periods, with occasional lifting of heavy loads up to 90 pounds.
• Frequently works alone in remote areas.
• Works occasionally on projects requiring overtime and overnight stays.

Hourly Base Salary Range
: $25.20 - $28.80
