CompensationThe current rate is $2,697.37 semi‑monthly
. Individuals selected for this position may receive a higher rate based on a pay differential (e.g., shift, time‑of‑service pay).
- Provide physical examinations, perform nursing assessments, schedule sick calls and lab work, and review all medical complaints, injury reports, and physicians’ orders.
- Maintain an ongoing awareness of youths’ health care needs and coordinate the provisionaire of services.
- Establish, review, monitor, and maintain medical and medication logs, reports, and files.
- Stay abreast of new developments, research, and treatment techniques that will meet the needs of youth.
- Teach and monitor the implementation of new information throughout the program.
- Conduct CPR and First Aid classes for youth and staff. Obtain and maintain certification as an American Red Cross and First Aid Instructor, HIV Counseling and Testing Certification.
- Oversee and review the work and documentation of LPNs, nurse assistants, and other technical personnel.
Supervise, plan, and evaluate the work of other registered nurses on a shift. - Be accountable for incident reporting, investigation, and ensuring the provision of medical care by facility staff.
- Provide health care and hygiene instruction to youth, staff, and families, promoting health, prevention, and management of illness, injury, and special health needs.
- Dispense medications to youth.
- Transport and escort youth in everyday and emergency situations.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
In addition to those identified in the previous levels: knowledge of current professional nursing theory, practices, and standards; ability to administer detailed therapeutic prescriptions under general professional supervision; ability to supervise, evaluate, and instruct professional and paraprofessional nursing staff.
Licensing & Experience RequirementsPossession of a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Missouri or in accordance with Missouri’s Nurse Licensure Compact and 0–3 years of experience as a registered nurse.
(A graduate of an accredited nursing program may practice as a graduate nurseonenumber until he/she has received the results of code first licensure examination taken by the nurse or until ninety (90)();
