Title:
Telemetry Project Manager
Duration: 6 Months
Location:
Portland, OR
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, technical experience in telemetry systems, and experience with large-scale technology implementations. This role is critical to ensuring the successful deployment of an ongoing program to update and maintain telemetry sites across Oregon and Washington.
Responsibilities- Lead large, complex strategic projects, assuming accountability for delivering results
- Manage projects, including Internal and External resources
- Develop project plans, budgets, scope, timelines, outcomes, and deliverables using NWN PMO tools and templates
- Collaborate with stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to define goals, deliverables, and timelines.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams, operational teams, and executive stakeholders.
- Communicate technical concepts and progress to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure system reliability and security are addressed during the planning and execution phases.
- Execute procurement and contracting activities, tracking, and reporting according to NWN policies and procedures.
- Identify, manage, and resolve inter-project/program dependencies, working with other PMs and NWN stakeholders
- Conduct analyses to estimate and track project costs and budgets
- Define resource requirements and negotiate availability with resource managers
- Manage vendor relationships to align vendor schedules, costs, and deliverables with the overall project plan
- Ensure alignment of technical solutions with organizational objectives and compliance requirements.
- Establish, maintain, and update project risk log. Resolve project issues and elevate as appropriate
- Manage project change control and follow existing policies
- Ensure project-related documentation is accurate and complete
- Thorough knowledge of project and program management theories, models, and techniques
- Experience managing a program or volume of projects with competing schedules
- Demonstrated success applying project management concepts and techniques across large, mission-critical projects/programs
- Strong communication and presentation skills across all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated analytical skills, including problem solving and critical thinking, with attention to detail
- Ability to facilitate meetings and manage difficult conversations with tact and diplomacy
- Ability to gain and maintain credibility at all levels of the organization
- Understanding of business process improvement and change management desired
- Master's degree in business, technology or related field preferred
- PMI or equivalent certification preferred
- 7+ years of progressive project management leadership experience
- Familiarity with construction means and methods, jurisdictions and permitting requirements
- Ability to write statements of work, ensuring scope matches site design and appropriate materials are planned for
- Experience with materials tracking, long lead purchasing coordination, materials and vendor invoice reviews and approvals
- Power utility experience preferred
