We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer (EWIS).
As an Electrical Engineer (EWIS) at ANAVIA, you bring expertise in electrical wiring interconnection systems (EWIS), aerospace electrical integration, and hands‑on aircraft wiring development. This role requires strong technical proficiency to design, develop, install, test, and maintain aircraft electrical wiring systems, wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and connector interfaces.
Key Tasks EWIS Design & Development- Design and develop electrical wiring interconnection systems including wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and connector systems.
- Perform wire gauge calculations, voltage drop analysis, and current carrying capacity assessments. Select appropriate wiring materials, connectors, terminals, and protective components based on environmental and performance requirements.
- Develop grounding and bonding schemes to ensure electrical safety and EMC compliance.
- Create detailed harness assembly drawings, wire lists, and manufacturing documentation.
- Develop installation procedures and tooling requirements for wire harness assembly and aircraft installation.
- Ensure proper wire support, strain relief, and protection from chafing, vibration, and environmental hazards.
- Coordinate wire routing through bulkheads, fairings, and structural members while maintaining adequate bend radius and clearances.
- Support prototype builds and production installations with hands‑on technical guidance. Verify proper installation of EWIS components.
- Develop and execute test plans for EWIS continuity, insulation resistance, and functional testing.
- Perform wire harness acceptance testing and quality inspections.
- Support fault isolation and troubleshooting of electrical system issues.
- Ensure EWIS designs comply with aerospace standards including DO-160, SAE AS50881, MIL-DTL-38999, and FAA AC 21-99(0).
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation including wiring diagrams, harness drawings, installation manuals, and parts lists.
- Develop interconnect diagrams (ICDs) showing electrical interfaces between systems and subsystems.
- Generate manufacturing work instructions, quality control procedures, and inspection criteria.
- Support technical publications and maintenance documentation.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and quality teams to optimize harness producibility and reduce assembly time.
- Interface with suppliers for wire, connectors, and protective components procurement.
- Working independently and responsibly. Perform tasks as described above.
- Compliance according to ANAVIA’ employment contract, compliance with company’ safety instructions and employee’ safety requirements, compliance with employers’ quality manual, work instructions and corresponding process specifications and instructions.
- International travel requires up to 25% of employee’ working hours.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: minimum 3‑5 years of proven experience in EWIS design, wire harness development, or aerospace electrical systems. Experience with aircraft wiring systems, UAV and GCS electrical integration, or aerospace manufacturing preferred. Hands‑on experience with wire harness assembly, installation, and testing.
- Skills: strong understanding of electrical wiring principles, wire sizing, and circuit protection.
- Proficiency with electrical CAD tools for harness design (e.g. Capital Harness, CATIA Electrical Workbench).
- Proven experience with connector systems and termination techniques. Understanding of EMC/EMI principles and wire segregation requirements.
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment including multimeters, continuity and hipot testers.
- Knowledge of wire protection methods including…
