Group Internal Auditor – Glasgow, UK – Hybrid
What you’ll do
- Audit Delivery:
Execute audit testing aligned with the approved audit scope and Group Internal Audit methodology, including walkthroughs, sample testing, documentation, and analysis. Evaluate internal controls and prepare well‑structured working papers. Deliver audits on time with high‑quality documentation and actionable findings. - Audit Planning & Support:
Support audit planning activities by gathering background information, reviewing prior audit results, performing preliminary risk assessments, and preparing testing and sampling approaches. - Follow‑Up & Issue Tracking:
Monitor and verify implementation of agreed management actions, reviewing evidence to assess whether risks have been appropriately addressed and recommendations effectively closed. - Business Engagement &
Collaboration:
Build effective working relationships with stakeholders across Weir’s global operations to understand processes, gather evidence and support efficient audit delivery. - Safety First:
Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero‑harm behaviours in support of developing a world‑class safety culture. - Travel internationally up to 30% may be required.
What you’ll bring
- Must‑haves:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field with 2–5 years of internal or external audit experience. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to understand processes, evaluate controls and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting information clearly and professionally.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality work to agreed deadlines.
Nice‑to‑haves
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments.
- Exposure to operational or IT audits.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Part‑qualified or studying towards professional certifications like CIA, ACCA, or CA.
- Understanding of IFRS, internal audit standards, or operational processes.
