The RoleWorking with a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SME clients, you'll take ownership of accounts preparation and client relationships while supporting managers and partners across a varied range of assignments.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparation and review of monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Preparing statutory accounts for a broad portfolio of clients
- Preparation and review of VAT returns
- Reviewing bookkeeping records and assisting with complex queries
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting clients with accounting software and financial reporting
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting exercises
- Producing meaningful financial analysis and management information
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients and building strong relationships
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies
- Working closely with managers and partners on client assignments and projects
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
- Experience preparing management and statutory accounts
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- ACCA/ICAS part-qualified, qualified by experience (QBE), or nearing qualification
- Good understanding of VAT and financial reporting requirements
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Experience using cloud-based accounting software and Excel
- Salary up to £45,000 DOE
