Reed Accountancy are delighted to be working with a construction firm based in Glasgow to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and growing business where you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function.

Working within a collaborative finance team, you will take ownership of the accounts payable process while supporting a range of financial administration and reporting activities. This position would suit a proactive and organised individual who enjoys a varied workload and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

Ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and on time
Reconcile supplier statements and maintain accurate records
Prepare and process payment runs
Complete daily bank reconciliations and assist with cashflow monitoring
Process employee expenses and carry out relevant VAT checks
Monitor and maintain the finance inbox, processing incoming invoices and queries
Act as a key point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding purchase ledger matters
Investigate and resolve invoice and supplier account queries
Support month-end activities, including intercompany recharges and financial reporting
Reconcile company credit cards and maintain supporting documentation
Analyse timesheet data and assist with labour cost reporting

To succeed in this role, you will need:

Previous experience in a transactional accounts role with a strong knowledge of accounts payable
Proficiency in accounting software
Strong organisational and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
