Your new company
Are you a personal tax professional looking to join a well-established and highly respected independent accountancy practice in Glasgow?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing firm with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality advice to individuals, owner-managed businesses and families across Scotland. The firm prides itself on providing a supportive and collaborative working environment where employees are encouraged to develop their technical skills, build lasting client relationships and progress their careers.
Due to continued growth within the tax team, the firm is seeking a Personal Tax Senior to play a key role in supporting a varied portfolio of clients and delivering an exceptional level of service.
Your new role
As a Personal Tax Senior, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring compliance obligations are completed accurately and on time whilst providing a high standard of client service. You will work with a diverse range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, directors, business owners and partnerships, developing trusted relationships and becoming a key point of contact for tax-related matters.
Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing self-assessment tax returns, liaising with HMRC, responding to client queries and assisting with a variety of personal tax compliance matters. In addition, you will have the opportunity to support on more complex tax planning and advisory assignments, allowing you to broaden your technical expertise and gain valuable exposure beyond compliance work.
Working closely with senior members of the tax team, you will contribute to the continued success of the department and help maintain the high levels of service for which the firm is recognised.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will have previous personal tax experience gained within an accountancy practice environment and be confident managing your own workload and client relationships. You may currently be working as a Personal Tax Assistant, Tax Semi-Senior or Tax Senior and be looking to continue your progression within a supportive and professional firm.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a genuine interest in personal taxation are essential. ATT qualification, CTA studies or equivalent experience would be advantageous, although support may be available for candidates wishing to continue their professional development.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will join a friendly and collaborative firm that places genuine value on its people and offers a supportive environment in which to build your career. You will gain exposure to a varied and interesting client portfolio, benefit from ongoing professional development and have the opportunity to further develop your technical and advisory capabilities.
Alongside a competitive salary and benefits package, you will enjoy flexible working arrangements, a supportive team culture and a clear pathway for future progression within the tax team.
