Glasgow | 4-Day Working Week | Competitive Salary + Study Support Rutherford Cross is delighted to be exclusively supporting a growing and innovative Glasgow-based business in the search for an Assistant Management Accountant.
This is an excellent opportunity for a developing finance professional looking to take the next step in their career.
Working as part of a collaborative finance function, you will support the preparation of management information, maintain robust financial controls and provide valuable financial insight to support business decision-making.
Key responsibilities will include:- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and month-end reporting
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis activities
- Raise and process customer invoices accurately and on time
- Manage credit control activities, monitor aged debt and proactively chase outstanding balances
- Investigate and resolve customer queries and account discrepancies
- Reconcile customer accounts and allocate cash receipts
- Process supplier invoices and maintain accurate purchase ledger records
- Reconcile supplier statements and support payment runs
- Assist with cash flow monitoring and forecasting
- Support audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements
- Partner with operational teams to ensure financial data is accurate and complete
- Contribute to process improvement and finance system enhancement projects
We are looking for an ambitious and proactive finance professional who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and working in a continuously improving environment.
You will likely have:
- Experience with in a finance, accounts or accounting support role
- Good understanding of reconciliations, sales ledger and accounting processes
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A positive and self-motivated approach to work
- Experience supporting month-end accounting activities
- Exposure to management accounting responsibilities
- Experience working within a growing SME environment
- Studying towards, or interested in pursuing, AAT, ACCA or CIMA qualifications
- Experience using modern cloud-based accounting systems
- Unique 4-day working week
