Overview
On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) became one national organisation focused on continuity today and a stronger, more connected service for tomorrow. As part of this transformation, NSS and NES have joined to form Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.
PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future. We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.
PSD Scotland IT departments are flexible organisations that react quickly to changing business needs in order to provide an efficient and effective service to PSD Scotland and the wider NHS. We currently have a vacancy for a Junior Application Support Officer. This post involves system admin support and maintenance of the Crown Flexi, Procurement and Finance systems. The main responsibilities of this post will be Crown flexi system support and administration along with supplier creation and maintenance within the procurement and finance systems for multiple health boards.
The post holder will be dealing with calls through the Service Now call handling system, contacting suppliers, and updating the relevant systems where required.
- Provide system administration support and maintenance for the Crown Flexi, Procurement and Finance systems.
- Perform supplier creation and maintenance within procurement and finance systems for multiple health boards.
- Handle calls via the Service Now call handling system and communicate with suppliers.
- Update relevant systems as required to ensure data accuracy and process efficiency.
You should possess a good attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy when managing/designing systems with a minimal margin for errors. This needs to be balanced with quick resolution of issues or implementation of essential changes. The post holders will also be expected to undertake a wide variety of additional work which may have conflicting priorities. Ability to manage multiple tasks and to adjust to changing priorities is a requirement.
Learning new skills and software packages to build up knowledge of IT procedures is required. The post holder should have experience in a system administration role and should have completed formal qualifications to HND level or equivalent knowledge from advanced formal training and experience.

- Willingness to learn new skills and software to expand IT procedures knowledge.
- Experience in a system administration role; formal qualifications to HND level or equivalent.
Locations:
Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow. Currently hybrid working. Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week. It is a condition of employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK and have entitlement to work in the UK for the post.
