The Role

A multi-functional role, intended to provide support to the sites Facilities Managers in the delivery of day‑to‑day Facilities Management (FM) services. Working as part of a team and on their own initiative, the postholder will work to provide an excellent level of customer service for all SSE colleagues and visitors and assist in all aspects of delivering high quality FM services.

The role will include (but not limited to) the following areas of FM activity, Front of House, reception including administration duties, audit processes, reception, organising maintenance tasks, ensuring effective customer service, dealing with stakeholders, dispute/conflict resolution, management of contractors and other third‑party service providers, production of FM related reports, assisting with desk/staff moves, car park management, administration and co‑ordination of catering and hospitality services.

The role will involve travel, covering other sites to ensure the delivery of FM Services across the estate.

SSE Facilities Management provides support to our stakeholders to enable them to focus on their core business activities. We provide a full range of facilities management services and are looking for enthusiastic, innovative, dynamic individuals who will contribute to the team, meeting the challenging business targets.

The main objective of the role is to provide support to the site Facilities Manager in the delivery of day‑to‑day Facilities Management (FM) services and activities on a single site and/or multiple sites. This role involves planning, and coordination to ensure the timely delivery of all FM activities, soft services, aligned with the Property & FM mission/vision statement and provide suitable facilities to support the SSE core business unit’s requirements and needs.

  • Facilities Operations:
    Ensure efficient site services and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements while providing excellent customer service.
  • Financial Management:
    Support budget tracking, manage maintenance activities, and assist with site projects by handling purchase orders and invoices.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    Maintain accurate records via FM systems, verify work quality, and promote a culture of safety through checks, training, and contractor management.
  • Supplier & Stakeholder Relations:
    Strengthen supplier relationships and provide exceptional customer service to stakeholders, ensuring professional and courteous interactions.
  • Person & Role Specifications:
    Utilize strong IT and administrative skills, with the potential to work towards an IWFM Level 3 Diploma, and demonstrate teamwork, initiative, and effective communication.
You have
  • Experience with front of house/reception duties with a solid customer service focus.
  • Experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders, across a number of business functions to support the delivery of their departmental goals.
  • Previous experience within FM, either in‑house, TFM or client side.
  • Knowledge of both hard and soft FM services.
